I founded Kong Mountain Tea in 2018 to share my love for handmade teaware, premium Chinese loose-leaf tea, and the serene beauty of the traditional Chinese tea ceremony.
I grew up in Anfu County, a small town in Jiangxi Province, China, where my cousin ran a bustling tea room—this is where my curiosity and passion for tea first began. After years of studying and living in the U.S., I still turn to tea whenever I seek peace and quiet. Tea is healing for me; it offers a moment to slow down and reconnect with myself. From a wish to pass on this sense of calm, Kong Mountain Tea slowly took shape.
“Kong Mountain 空山” in Chinese means a tranquil and peaceful mountain. The word “Kong” also means “empty” in Chinese. In a fast-paced, distracting world, moments of clarity and stillness can soothe and rejuvenate the spirit. My hope is that Kong Mountain Tea can bring those moments of calm and joy to tea lovers around the world.
Behind the scenes, we are constantly sourcing unique teas and teaware, sharing brewing techniques, and documenting our travels across China.
