Hi Tea Friend,

Thank you for supporting a small tea business!

I founded Kong Mountain Tea in 2018 to share my love for handmade teaware, premium Chinese loose leaf tea, and the serene beauty of the traditional Chinese tea ceremony.

I grew up in Anfu County, a small town in Jiangxi Province, China, where my cousin ran a bustling tea room — that’s where my curiosity and passion for tea began. After years of studying and living in the U.S., I still turn to tea whenever I seek peace and quiet. Tea is healing for me; it offers a moment to slow down and reconnect with myself.

“Kong Mountain 空山” in Chinese means a tranquil and peaceful mountain. My first unforgettable tea experience happened on a quiet mountainside near my hometown. While hiking one afternoon, I met a tea farmer tending his highland plantation. He welcomed me to share a cup of his green tea. That exquisite cup — sipped, savored, and shared amidst the peaceful mountainside — sparked a lifelong love affair with tea.

The word “Kong” also means “empty” in Chinese. In a fast-paced, distracting world, moments of clarity and stillness can soothe and rejuvenate the spirit. My hope is that Kong Mountain Tea can bring those moments of calm and joy to tea lovers around the world.

I visit ceramic artists in China on every trip home, handpicking teaware I love and feel deeply connected to. Each journey also takes me to new tea plantations, where I work with local producers and participate in harvests — bringing back the finest loose leaf teas for you to enjoy.

Behind the scenes, we are constantly sourcing unique teas and teaware, sharing brewing techniques, and documenting our travels across China. Feel free to connect with us on Instagram and YouTube. Thank you for being part of our tea journey — may your tea time always be peaceful and joyful!

With love,
Xi
