Tie Luo Han ( Iron Monk )

Tie Luo Han ( Iron Monk )

from $6.00

Tie Luo Han (铁罗汉 in Chinese means “iron monk” or “iron arhat”. However, this tea does not taste as harsh as it sounds. On the contrary, it has a unique long-lasting fragrance with a pleasant mouth feeling and a very balanced, rounded profile.

The tea leaves were hand-picked in 莲花峰(Lotus Peak) in Wuyi Mountain Region on May 3rd 2021. To achieve the ultimate fragrance and balanced taste, it was thoughtfully and skillfully roasted three times with charcoal.

To our surprise, this Tie Luo Han has the aroma of a dan cong and the flavor of a yancha! The leaves give off bright, sweet notes of jasmine, cream, and nuts. The taste has the classic dark, the mineral quality you would expect from a rock oolong balanced with tangy, floral, and creamy flavors. One of our favorite parts of enjoying this tea was the aroma it left in our cups, so we highly recommend taking a moment to soak that scent in.
