Gua Feng Zhai is a village in the Yi Wu Mountain region. The tea trees in this area grow wild in a forest surrounded by wild plants and animals with minimal human intervention. This tea forest grows at around 1500 - 1600 meters. The material of this tea comes from spring Qiao Mu. While Gu Shu material is from tea trees that are about 100 years old or older, Qiao Mu material comes from trees that are in the 40 - 60 years old range. The fresh leaves were harvest in April 2016 and pressed into cakes in September 2016.

Our 2016 Gua Feng Zhai is perfect for tea drinkers who want to learn about aging in sheng puerh. The leaves of this older version of our Gua Feng Zhai exude a decadent aroma of fruits and cream. When you drink it, you will find that it has classic characteristics of 4-5-year-old raw puerh – sweet with a balancing bitterness. Compared to our 2020 Gua Feng Zhai, the 2016 version is darker and more assertive.

We highly recommend this tea to fans of puerh. Get it to enjoy on its own, or compare it with our 2020 spring version. We believe you will fall in love with it the way that we did!
