Japanese Blue Line Flower Teacup
Japanese Blue Line Flower Teacup
Hand-painted by artists from Japan, the traditional floral and wave patterns were expertly transferred from a prepared design onto the porcelain. Different from the traditional Chinese Gaiwan, the lid is a little bigger than the cup and is used to keep the tea warm/for decoration. It’s traditionally used for green tea. Its versatile design allows it to be used as a teacup as well as a tea bowl. The glazing and firing took place after coloring, so the beautiful patterns and colors are wrapped under the glaze and won’t fade over time. It holds approximately 140 ml of liquid. Its large capacity makes it a perfect teacup for solo tea drinking.

Additional Information:
It’s food safe, of course. And also dishwasher safe. However, I strongly recommend that you wash and dry it by hand, and use it gently. Please do not use on an open flame, gas or electric stove-top. And try to avoid alternating hot and cold, which could cause cracking.
