This hand-painted teacup is lightweight and thin walled. The traditional flower patterns were expertly transferred from a prepared design onto the porcelain. The glazing and firing took place after coloring, so the beautiful patterns and colors are wrapped under the glaze and won’t fade over time. It holds approximately 120 ml of liquid. Its large capacity makes it a perfect teacup for solo tea drinking. Different from the traditional Chinese Gaiwan, the lid is a little bigger than the cup and is used to keep the tea warm/for decoration. It’s traditionally used for green tea. Its versatile design allows it to be used as a teacup as well as a tea bowl.

Additional Information:
It’s food safe, of course. And also dishwasher safe. However, I strongly recommend that you wash and dry it by hand, and use it gently. Please do not use on an open flame, gas or electric stove-top. And try to avoid alternating hot and cold, which could cause cracking.
