The glass tea scoop is used as a container for tea. When you want to get a specific amount of tea into your pot or gaiwan, this is the carrier to get. It's also easier to put your tea into your teapot or gaiwan with the scoop. Please note that the bamboo tea scoop shown in the picture is not included.

It’s food safe, of course. And also dishwasher safe. However, I strongly recommend that you wash and dry it by hand, and use it gently. Please do not use on an open flame, gas or electric stove-top. And try to avoid alternating hot and cold, which could cause cracking.
