Handcrafted by ceramic artist Du in Jingdezhen, China, this gaiwan features a soft light-purple glaze with a gently textured surface reminiscent of the moon.
Subtle variations in glaze color, pattern, and texture emerge naturally during the firing process, giving each piece its own unique character. Each gaiwan is individually wheel-thrown and glazed by hand, so slight differences in shape and size are part of its handmade beauty.
Its compact, classic form feels comfortable in the hands and offers a smooth, controlled pour, making it a beautiful and practical choice for everyday gongfu tea sessions.

It’s food safe, of course. And also dishwasher safe. However, I strongly recommend that you wash and dry it by hand, and use it gently. Please do not use on an open flame, gas or electric stove-top. And try to avoid alternating hot and cold, which could cause cracking.
