This tea needle is very helpful when you try to break into a loosely pressed tea cake. Unlike a tea knife, which is sharper, a needle like this is relatively safer for breaking into a cake. You can use the head of the needle to break more tightened tea cakes such as ripe puerh and hei cha, and use the thinner part of the needle to break into loosely pressed raw puerh or white tea cakes.
