Handcrafted by Pupu Studio in Jianshui, Yunnan, this tea tray features a classic round shape and the traditional Chinese character “福” (fu), a symbol of good fortune, happiness, and luck.
Made from 100% Jianshui purple clay, or zitao, the tray is formed from naturally occurring black and brown clay with a soft matte finish. Although it is commonly known as “purple clay,” Jianshui zitao naturally occurs in five colors: purple, red, white, yellow, and green.
Its simple, low-profile design makes it easy to pair with a wide range of teapots, gaiwans, and teacups, while the auspicious character adds a meaningful touch to the tea table.

It’s food safe, of course. I strongly recommend that you wash it only with water, and use it gently. Please do not use soap to wash or rinse your pot because it might also absorb the scent from the soap. You can also use this bamboo handle brush to gently wipe away excess water during and after using any porous clay pots (Yixing, Jianshui) to help ensure it develops an even finish.
