Handcrafted by Pupu Studio in Jianshui, Yunnan, this tea tray features a traditional lotus flower motif along the edge, giving the piece a delicate and timeless character.
Made from 100% Jianshui purple clay, or zitao, the tray is formed from naturally occurring black and brown clay with a soft matte finish. Although it is commonly known as “purple clay,” Jianshui zitao naturally occurs in five colors: purple, red, white, yellow, and green.
It pairs beautifully with teaware from the same Jianshui collection, while its understated design also allows it to complement a wide variety of gaiwans, teapots, and teacups. Its low-profile form adds function without overwhelming the tea table.

It’s food safe, of course. I strongly recommend that you wash it only with water, and use it gently. Please do not use soap to wash or rinse your pot because it might also absorb the scent from the soap. You can also use this bamboo handle brush to gently wipe away excess water during and after using any porous clay pots (Yixing, Jianshui) to help ensure it develops an even finish.
