We found this lovely tea tray at a weekend teaware market in Jingdezhen, China. It was handmade and painted by an artist known for her cat, fish, and crane themed pottery. We will carry more tea trays and teacups from her in the near future. All of her handmade pieces are marked by her own logo(“豆“).
This octagon tea tray features a black glaze with a sweet illustration of a happy cat couple holding hands. It provides plenty of room for your gaiwan or teapot.
The black glaze is hard to work with, so the potter has decided not to create any new pieces using this glaze. This is our last batch of her black glazed tea trays.

Additional Information:
It’s food safe, of course. And also dishwasher safe. However, I strongly recommend that you wash and dry it by hand, and use it gently. It’s safe to use on an open flame, gas or electric stove-top. And try to avoid alternating hot and cold, which could cause cracking.
